What have you got already? 1881 census can be searched free - have you got him on there?
We dont want to duplicate effort looking for what you have already.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex

Well...

there is lots you can easily find for yourself - much more fun that immediately asking others to look!

His birth is on FreeBMD, for example (have a look - if you get stuck I will willingly tell you the details but it will be more use in your research generally  if you learn your way round sites such as FreeBMD)

And he is on 1881 census with parents and siblings - all nice and clear.
Again if yuo get stuck just shout - but both these can be searched for free, and it really is more fun to discover your ancestors yourself!
