Looking for a Marriage

Getting deperate with this one

Looking for a marriage for a Maude Nellie H Cox b 1878 Plymouth.
Family moved away from Plymouth to Sussex for the 1891 census.
Maude believed to be Isle of Man for the 1901 census (unmarried).
Her mum and younger brother living in Islington for the 1901 census.
Dad is .......... still working that one out.

I have looked on freebmd but there doesn't appear to be a marriage fitting Maude's full name on there, so her marriage (if at all) may have been registered under perhaps a slightly different name.

Another scenario is perhaps she married on the Isle of Man, that would be a bit more difficult to find as I don't know of a candidate's name for the groom.

Any help to perhaps finding a marriage much appreciated.

How certain are you that maude was in I.O.M. in 1901???

There is a nellie Cox of more correct age in Sussex in 1901???

Wonder if she used the name nellie???

If so could this be her marriage reg?

I found the Maude Nellie h Cox birth reg - but wondered if there was a birth reg for Nellie H M Cox - if there was we could discount the marriage Oliver J K Kinchington

I think Oliver may have bee born c 1891 - so would maybe be a little young for Maude Nellie??

Ah, the Nellie Cox in Sussex 1901 gives pob as Shillingdon, Dorset so that could be Oliver's one too.

Ewan, I wasn't sure if you had the bc, which hopefully would give you Maud's father's name.

Hello Suz and Gaie

Thanks for your help, it looks like Maude's dad who was William Henry Cox was living on the Isle of Man at the same time as Maude in 1901.  However, they were in different households he was with an Alice Cox (who is not the mum of Maude) and Maude was working as a servant in another area of the island.

I am trying to establish if this Maude Nellie H Cox on the Isle of Man is my relative, so trying to find a marriage for her there to see if the dad's name was the same as the one I know.  As mentioned it is difficult to find a marriage for her there, so I have just tried to find a marriage for her anywhere

I have even looked at the 1911 census index at all Maudes/Maud ? to see if they show up with their husbands on the 1901 census, if they do they are obviously not my Maude Cox.
