1851, 1861 census
« on: Tuesday 08 March 05 20:12 GMT (UK) »
I have been advised that the Montgomeryshire census includes the parish of Worthen.

If this is right could someone please have a look for a Thomas Lewis, born c 1833 in Pennerley, Worthen.

From his marriage cert in 1863 I have his father's name as David Lewis (deceased) but at the moment I have no idea when he died, so Thomas could be with him on either the 51 or 61 census.

Any help would be really appreciated

Allie

Hi Allie

The 1851 census copy I have is incomplete and perhaps someone has a better copy.  I could find nothing of interest to you in my version.

In the 1861 census, there are only 2 Thomas Lewis's of the right sort of age, both 25 as it happens, though neither are shown as born in Worthen.

Living at Wortherton
Sarah Lewis (61) labourer's widow, b. Broseley, Salop
John Lewis (39) son, barytes miner, b. Churchstoke
Thomas Lewis (25) son, Ag.lab., b. Chirbury
Edward Lewis (22) son, barytes miner, b. Chirbury
Harriet Lewis (15) daughter, b. Chirbury

Living at Penygelly, Kerry
Thomas Lewis (25) servant, b.Chirbury

Best of luck
