I have been researching the possibility that Robert CRUST (c1791-1868) and Ann KESBY (1784-1815) had a son, Richard. I know that Ann and Robert married 17 Oct 1813 and that Ann died in 1815. Robert subsequently married Ann BRENCHLEY (Ann(2)) 1 Jul 1832 and they had several children.
Richard CRUST (possibly the son of Ann and Robert) appears as follows:
1851 census, as son of Robert CRUST, age 37, with Robert, Ann(2) and family in Kingsnorth.
1861 census, as son of Robert CRUST, age 46, with Robert, Ann(2) and family in Kingsnorth.
1871 census as son in law (should be stepson?) of Ann CRUST, age 57, with Ann(2) in Kingsnorth (Robert CRUST died 1868)
1881 census, as head, age 64, with Ann(2) shown as mother in law (should be stepmother) in Great Chart.
1891 census as head, , age 77, with Ann(2) shown as stepmother in Great Chart.
Richard died in 1892. The informant was Robert CRUST, his brother.
This suggests to me that Richard CRUST was the son of Robert CRUST and Ann KESBY, and was born 1813 or 1814. Does anyone here have a view?
