this is a bit of a long shot but there is a family story that some of our Hooper ancestors emigrated to South Africa either late 19th Century or early 20th Century. They may have come from either Halifax, Yorkshire or Edinburgh. One of my Aunts was in South Africa in the 1950's and thought there were a number of Hooper sisters who had a dance band and were descended from the Hooper immigrants. If anyone has any clues or ideas or can look up records I would be very grateful. As I sat it's a bit of a long shot but then Rootschat is good for long shots.
