Maybe though, this Isaac George WYMER was the son of Isaac ?

There is a 22 year age difference between Isaac and Isaac George Wymer, so looks like Isaac George is the son. :D

Sorry  ... I don't get it.   ???

Since the post about a "possible" connection between Isaac and Isaac George, we've already established that they were father and son.     [And the 1881 census tends to confirm same.]

Seems to be a connection between these two WYMER families (Rosebank Road in school records / Rosebank, Avondale on the War records). ?

Possibly Enoch is the younger brother of Isaac WYMER ?
It's such an unusal name - not a great many listed on UK records ... and those in NZ appear to descend from Isaac and Enoch ?

Re the connection of two Wymer Families in Reply # 44 they could be the one and same family.

Cheers
KHP

Well ... "fantasmoo" claims to have the history of Alice May WYMER's family  ... back to a Jacob in the 1700's ?

Does that history include the names of Alice May's father (Isaac's) parents ???

We already know from the 1881 census that Enoch was living with his parents "Robert and Caroline WYMER".

Really, though it's for these WYMER descendants to work out the connection (birth cert. / marriage cert .... maybe death cert. ... for Isaac WYMER to confirm his parentage.) ?

I am Norman, the NZ Champion (Ploughing) that you are referring to and we are farming and cropping at Glenbrook. Isaac George Wymer (d. 1953) and Elizabeth Russell (d.1963) were my Grandfather and Grandmother.  Isaac (b.1859) was farming on the west side of the Mt Wellington Highway at Otahuhu, Auckland cropping 100 acres of vegetables from 1890 to 1905.

Hi Plowman,

Welcome to Rootschat.

Only reason I knew the family were still in Glenbrook was we know someone who married into it, but can't give the details here.    Once you make 3 posts you can then use the PM (Personal Message) system for private messages.

Very well known families in the district ..... my OH is one :)

Cheers
KHP :)

Hi Magic

If you go back to Reply # 17, you'll see where Margaret Isabel fits into the picture.

She does not appear to have been born in New Zealand.

There is though a likely possible birth on FREE BMD (UK)?  ???

BIRTHS -  SEPT -  1878

TYRRELL - Margaret Isabel
Registered - Abingdon

PS   ... Welcome to Plowman    :)

Edit:   "Possible" substituted for "likely" - so as to eliminate any confusion.
