Lichfield Theological College
« on: Tuesday 27 October 09 18:54 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help by letting me know where the former records are kept from Lichfield Theological College?  I'm trying to trace my great grandfather who trained there in 1888.

Any help or tips would be much appreciated.

Have you tried the Staffordshire Record Office which probably doubles as the Diocesan RO for Lichfield?

Hi Jay

You could try Lichfield Record Office

http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/leisure/archives/LichfieldRecordOffice/

I am sure if you give them a ring they will be able to tell you if they are there, or if not where they are.

Have you thought of ringing up the Lichfield Diocesan Office and asking them if they know - they do have an archivist - and very helpful she is too.  Good luck with your search.  Incidentally I do have the Church Directory and Almanack for 1929 - if you think he might be on it, please ask and I'll look him up.  Good luck with the search.
