Help with William McAlpine

William McAlpine born c1817 Port of Monteith.
I have his death cert died 19 Jun Blacklands Farm Port of Monteith, his occ is given as Inspector of the Poor and he is widower of Elizabeth McAlpine..problem is I can find no marriage  ??? his parentage is right William McAlpine and Margaret Wilson !! 1861 census he is at Blacklands Farm and is listed as a Chelsea Pensioner and Inspector of the poor..cannot find for census 1841/1851..he may have married our of Scotland..nothing on SP or IGI for Scotland.

Any help appreciated Please..patvp

There is a William McAlpine on freecen  in Aberfoyle (not to far away) in the 1841 census his occupation is listed as AG labourer

the address is Westerpark.

There looks to be three brothers William being the older one head of the household is an Elizabeth McFarlane.

born 18th august 1817 baptized 12th sept 1817 port of monteith perth
parents william mcalpin and margaret wilson

if he was a chelsea pensioner that would suggest service in the armed forces
so possibly married abroad
