I’ve just discovered a family line from Cornwall went to South Africa about 1905. I have a small Xmas card sent from the Witwatersrand Gold Mining Company dated 28 Nov 1905, from Jim (James) DANIEL, to his relatives in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, which is my direct line .
James b 1886 Gulval, Cornwall. Son of Ralph DANIEL & Elizabeth Ann Jeffery.
I think I have found him on the National Archives of South Africa as having died in 1972 with a spouse Gladys May ?
According to the UK Shipping lists.
The same family seems to have travelled back & forward to England about every seven years. There are two children listed Ralph born c 1916 . Wife Frieda ?? & Margaret born c 1918.
I have tried a lot of sites that are available in Australia, but haven't found anything further.
Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
