How do I trace a war record??
« on: Sunday 01 November 09 20:05 GMT (UK) »
Hello!
I'm interested in finding any info that I can on my grandad. He was a paratrooper during WW2. I have his service number - where do I go from here?
:)
Byrne (Wexford), Hogan (Wexford), Hunt (London & Sussex) and Leeson (Northampton)

If you are next of kin, or can get written authorisation from his next of kin, you can request his service record:

Good hunting!

Don't forget to see the new Airborne Forces museum at Duxford for background...

Do you know which unit he was in?
One more charge and then be dumb,

May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.
