1901 Census for Ellis in West Ham RESOLVED
« on: Sunday 08 November 09 21:55 GMT (UK) »
I can find the wife easily on Find My Past site for 1901:

Emily R Ellis age 23 West Ham

Her husband is Walter and again I can find Walter age 22  and again on the 1911 Census search age 32 still living in West Ham.  I don't know where he was born.

I hope that is helpful.

Thanks in anticipation.

From what I can see the Emily in 1911 isn't married to a Walter but to a Robert

I think the Emily R Ellis age 23 you found in 1901 is a different Emily -she is single and home with parents

Because of this I search and find she died Mar. Q. 1900 aged 20.  Please may I have details to see if she had any children?

Thanks for your quick reply.

1901
Star St west ham
Walter Ellis head W 42 Dock lab Whitechapel London
Walter Ellis son W 22 Poplar london
Phoebe daughter 13 Poplar London
RG13 1576 55 1

There are no children with walter jnr - if they had children maybe Emily's family looked after them - there is no way of knowing from census - and there are far too many Ellis births to know which (if any) belongs to them

Purchase of Emily Rebecca's death cert (i posted ref previously) would give you cause of death - there may be a mention of childbirth.

Thanks for that Suz

Please may I trouble you for the house number in Star Street because it is significant in my family history?

Thank you in anticipation.
