John French's children

I have found John and Rachel french and three of their children in Elgin Cemetery. The had another three children
William French born 28.2.1872 in Duffus
Mary Ann French born 18.1.1874 in Forres
Alexander French born 1876 in Forres
I have them on the 1881 census but after that I can't find them.
Any help would be great

The IGI has John French and Rachel Williamson marrying on 09 June 19871

and has 3 chidren for them

John b 06.Aug 1870
William b. 28 Feb 1872
Mary Ann b 18J an 1874.


Have you tried Libindex?

The first post was for a picture of the gravestone. Which showed not all the family but could not find anything else about them apart from their births.

I know, I just wanted to make sure people could identify the correct family in census records etc.

Have you looked at the possible marriage entries for them on SP?
Have you tried looking at passenger lists in case they emigrated?

Have looked at Scotlands people that's how I found their births but nothing else did think I might have found William on Forres War memorial but still looking into that. Am reasonable new to this and unsure exactly were to go.

I looked at the one on Forres War Memorial, I don't think it is him.
That William had middle initials which match another entry that I found, and between the CWGC and Libindx I discounted him as having different parents- I think his mother's name was Florence?

Where are they in the 1881 census and what was John's occupation?

edit: have you viewed John's death certificate? If so who registered his death as his wife predeceased him? That might give you one of the children.

Hello 'french' - I'm confused. 

In your first post you advise that you have no further information on Alexander French, yet you have a photo of his wife and daughters gravestone a and you know where they died.

I'll leave this thread until you can advise what information you have and what you need.

There is only one marriage for an Alexander French in all of Scotland between 1900 and the date of his wifes Rachels death.
