Help with Ancestry WWI docs pls...being a bit thick!
« on: Wednesday 11 November 09 20:48 GMT (UK) »
Evening!

I am getting rather frustrated with Ancestry this evening  >:(  I have found the WWI records of my great grandfather which is fantastic but I can't print them or find them if I try to save them - argghhh! Am I missing something?

Would greatly appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks
Rosie

Hi Rosie

When You Download them thay might have gone into a Folder Called My Documents

Press Start on the Task Bar
Go To a Folder Called My Documents ..Click on the Folder and it Should have a Folder there Called Downloads Open this Folder and Your Ancestry Images Should be there

Hope this Helps

Thanks Iria  ;D

I'm on Vista and have found the downloads folder but its empty.

When I've saved them I have chosen the file location but then when I go into the folder I've put them in there's nothing there  ??? They only seem to show up when I go to save amother image in the same place but of course I can't then open it as I am saving something.

Hi

On Windows Vista try the following

Go to Control Panel and select Internet Options, then select Security. Scroll down the page and untick Enable Protected Mode and then Apply. Once you have done this re-open your browser and you should be able to download ok.

Once I have finished downloading I then replace the tick although it has been suggested there is no need to.

Andy

Andy you are a star!!  ;) It worked, thank you.

I have been getting SO frustrated with it as I've been desperate to print it all off to share with my mum.

Iria, thank you again for your kind offer but it's now sorted - yay!
