Hi everyone i have got quite into this now just not quite shure where to look so..........

i have an ancestor by the name of william thomas ballamy born 1821  exeter and apparently he was in the navy on two of his childrens birth certs it says  R N on one and Mariner on the other however i cant find anything on him at all not even a death. his wife was frances norman and they married in 1854 exeter devon. we know he mus have died early around 1860 as he is down as deceased on the childrens marriage certs.

can anyone help or does anyone have access to any navy merchant or mariner records?

there is a myth that he may have been involved in the crimean....but who knows? and he may have died at sea.
