Can anyone check parish records for a William Barrett from Rosscarbery, born about 1836. Who were his parents? Where were they from? Any brothers or sisters?

All I can find is a John and Richard Barret at the address Chapel Lane in Rosscarbery between 1848  to 1864
Researching the names, Healy, Breen, Dingley, Daly, O'Connell
Places : Mallow , county Cork, Dublin, New York and other US states
For the Netherlands, Kalishoek,Mulder,van der Vos, De Koning and more

I don't think we are looking for the same person. My William Barrett married Mary Donovan in about 1855/6. He went to live in India very soon after, working for the East India Company.


Shame though! I have been looking for a link for ages. William Barrett is my brickwall!

Hello, I have found my great grandmother in the Irish parish registers in Derry Rosscarbery. I know nothing about the area at all. Her father's surname was Dillon. Could someone give me some further information.

Hello, her name was Catherine Dillon, born 2nd December 1837. Her dad was James and mum was Mary Ronan. She ended Up settling in Wales. I would love to know where exactly her family lived, as I only have her irish baptism record. Any additional details would be great.

A place you need to be careful with, as there are 4 townlands called Derry in Cork.
This one in the RC Parish of Rosscarberry is in the Civil Parish of Ross in the Poor Law Union of Clonakilty,
