Tom Collyer and all? - Just Tom
« on: Sunday 15 November 09 09:09 GMT (UK) »
Would some kind person see if they can find a baptism record for a Thomas Collyer born about 1862 in Dymchurch. Father Michael Collyer Mother Jane Maynard. They married Dec 1856 in Dymchurch. There does not appear to be a registration of his birth

I have his marriage Cert - 1885 Lowestoft to my G Grandmother Emma - and his death Cert - 1938 in Peckham. Both suggest a birth date of 1862

There is however a birth and death record for a Thomas Collyer Maynard in June 1856-Dec 1856 Romney Marsh. I don't know whether to send for these and see if they help?
Many thanks

Hi

I have checked this one and it's not the correct one. I'm thinking that he wasn't registered and am hoping that he was baptised

Thanks for looking

I don't know if you are still looking for this but, if so, there is ................

Tom COLLYER baptised 1 Feb 1863 New Romney son of Michael and Jane see http://www.familysearch.org (select Record Search Pilot)

Hmmmm, I would have thought he was more likely to be the 1862 one in Romney Marsh than the Ticehurst one ........ perhaps the year has been misread from the baptism register in the transcription or baptised late or ..............  ???
