Census & marriage help please !!!

I am trying to trace James Forsyth born abt 1836 and his wife Ellen. I have found them in 1871 living in swepstone Leicestershire and i can locate them in 1891 living in Burton on Trent. I cannot find no trace before 1871, i cant seem to find a marriage, i would love to know Ellens maiden name and trace James back further, please could anyone help. Thanks in advance

Looking at the information on the 1871 census it would suggest that James and Ellen married either in Scotland or IoM sadly I dont have access to Scottish records but on the Ilso of Man site via UKBMD their is a marriage for James Forsythe and Ellinor Green for the 19 April 1849 the reference numbers are D, A1, 1

I think this reference refers to Douglas, Non Conforming registers or Regiter Office

James was born in Annan in Dumfries.

Their first child was born in Cheshire - it may be worth looking for a marriage there.

On the 1911 census it says that Ellen was born in Laxey? Isle of Man and James in Springkel? Dumfrieshire
