I'm really struggling to find any info. on Matthew Carey (b) Armagh 1834 (I also suspect he may have been born in Hampshire, Eng) parents David Carey and Lucretia McConnell.  Matthew came to Australia then New Zealand, and back to Australia again.

If anyone can point me to the most likely web pages I'd be very grateful.

If Matthew Carey was born in Ireland you'd need to search for church records (if they exist) since registration of births started in 1864. You could check LDS site (www.familysearch.org) or RESOURCES at the top of this board but it's more than likely that either such a record will not exist or if it does that it will not be online.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
