Hi Gwenn

It appears that Barnardo's leagues started in New Zealand around February 1915 when four ladies from England visited for that purpose.    Fund-raising groups ("Young Helpers Leagues") were set up in schools.

Lot's of info in PapersPast

http://paperspast.natlib.got.nz/

Also try "Google" search >> "Dr. Barnardo's in NZ + early history" :

Sorry, can't help you with a specific date of the badge (did see some though advertised on "trademe" ... might be worth checking there, maybe there's something similar which bears a date)?

Good luck

Lu

I knew that ... thank  :) ...

However Barnardos NZ consolidated only 40 years ago ... before that all the money collected in NZ was send to the "Motherland" in England....

From previous browsing it appears there was different badges overtime ... and I want to know wich period this badge was used.

However will look at Paperpast ... thanks   :)

Hi again Gwenn

I just spotted an identical badge which had been sold on e-bay recently by someone in England (fetched 99 Brit. pence at auction   :D)  ...  but no history or date given with it.

Perhaps best to try Barnardo's UK ?

Or even have a browse of badge collectors / collectibles, websites ?
