Beverley Archives lookup? Holy Trinity Hull marriage 1826
« on: Monday 30 November 09 10:42 GMT (UK) »
Looks like I will struggle with this one, possibly only BT's available?
Anyone going to Beverley Archives?
Would appreciate a lookup of following:-

Looking for anymore details other than on IGI M107481:-
John Newton married Sarah Hinsley 18 May 1826 at Holy Trinity Hull - bride's parents Thomas Hinsley & Sarah Dealtry.

Ideally hope to find John Newton as a widower?

It is believed John's first wife Ann nee Hinsley was the sister of Sarah Hinsley also d/o Thomas Hinsley & Sarah Dealtry

Ann Newton (nee Hinsley bpt 27 Dec 1793 Snaith ) died in 1824 age 30 buried 17 May 1824 St. Mary's Catholic Church Snaith.

Was it not against the law in 1800's to marry one's wife's sister?
This may explain why John's 2nd marriage was in Hull (out of Snaith area?)??
