I dont see anying that seems to match on the townland database (http://thecore.com/seanruad/) or google maps in Co. Kildare

maybe it's  the name of a house or estate ?

another idea.... how about Carrickbrennan (aka Monkstown), Co. Dublin?

see this wikipedia article for an article relating to a John Travers, with a connection of the Earls of Kildare : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Eustace,_3rd_Viscount_Baltinglass
