1891 census was destroyed years ago. 1901 census for all Ireland is due to be added to 1911 census on National Archives website so keep checking that site for it.

there's a few Wakefield records listed in Co. Longford on the Civil index on familysearch that might be worth following up.. I dont image that the surname was very common in the area so it's possible that these are related : http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1408347;p=2;t=searchable

Hello Patricia

I just came across your post regarding William Henry Wakefield.  My grandfather was a William Henry Wakefield - all I know about him is that he married Agnes Maguire in Tullamore in 1911; he had 4 children (my father, William Frederick; Charles H; Louisa Mary and Agnes Teresa); and he died I believe, when the RMS Leinster was sunk in Dublin Bay in 1918.

I do not know where or when he was born, if he had any siblings, or who or where his parents came from.

My father had little or no knowledge of his father - it has always been a mystery as to whether William Henry was in fact Irish or English.

I'm hoping we can help each other fill in some blanks!
