Birth Jenny REFFITT

Hi Jenny Reffitt m William Weatherley at St Albans Hertfordshire May 1798, states she was from Parish of Wenham. I looked up gazzeter and found Wenham was in Suffolk. Sorry that is all I know. I have no Death Cert for her.
Would love to find her Birth and parents name.

If Jenny stated 'Wenham' most likely to be Great Wenham (there is a very tiny Little Wenham too).

Reffitt is not a name I recognise from that area of Suffolk - I think it more likely to be Revitt or Revett - we have to rely on what clerks wrote down in early records, and of course, they wrote down what they thought they had heard.  Perhaps the clerk in St Alban's was not used to hearing a good ode Suffolk accent

I wouldn't discount Jenny - the name was probably first heard in England in Norman times when the Genevieve's were often shortened to 'Jenny'.
