Kirkwood in California

Hoping for some help in finding the death dates for William Alexander Kirkwood and his wife Eva Adeliza nee Cushman of California.
William was born in Australia 1857. Eva was born in Iowa in1860. I found an Eva Kirkwood as an inmate in 1930  Oakland,Alameda??

The 1930 Census lists Eva Kirkwood as white, age 70, and widowed.  She is in what looks like "Kings Daughters Home" - perhaps a nursing home?  It says she was born Iowa and parents born Iowa.

In case this turns out to be your Eva, Oakland is Alameda County.  It is across the bay from San Francisco.

I hope you don't mind me dropping in on this thread; I was interested because it referenced California.

It appears you both found Eva.  It looks like your William and Eva are buried in Martinez, Contra Costa County, California.

I would guess that the couple lived in or near Martinez; or, had other family members buried in the cemetery.

Good find, Lisa.  The Contra Costa Library does obituary look-ups for free, but it looks like you would need an exact date of death:  http://ccclib.org/askaquestion/obit_form.html  If you're interesting in pursing that, perhaps you could try contacting the cemetery for that information?

Thanks for the prompt replies.The " find a grave" site was excellent even has photo of the headstone. It has prompted me to look further for the resting places of their children.
