Moss Family Probably around Bramshott
« on: Wednesday 09 December 09 17:20 GMT (UK) »
I am seeking information on the William Moss who married an Ann (Possibly Chandler in 1796 at Bramshott). There were 11 children of the marriage. William is known to be an Edge Tool maker in 1841. Ann was born about 1775 possibly at Bramshott.
Any advice and clues would be much appreciated
Thank You
Norman

there is a william moss who dies in farnham in 1st qtr of 1841
this is the reg dist for bramshott so could be him
which would explain why the ann posted for the 1841 census is not with him(if this is the right ann of course)

Thank You Wozzle.
It all looks good to me and I had missed Ann in the 1841 when I looked.
The only doubt I have is that William is not listed as deceased at Isaac Moss 1816 marriage on April 12th 1841. I have the Bramshott Parish Register Fiche here somewhere so may find Williams burial and age there.
Many Thanks  and Christmas Greetings
Norman

even if the father is deceased by the time of a marriage it does not always state this fact
it is down to whether the registrar asks the question

Do you have all the info' you need on this William Moss? I think I've most of the basis details. For your interest there's a great little booklet entitled 'Conford - From Domes Day to Victoria' by Mary Tyfield  (ISBN 0951182978). which has several references to William Moss and the Trusslers (my ancestors) I don't have my copy any longer.
