Death Record Post 1950's NSW
« on: Thursday 10 December 09 09:38 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know if records can be accessed for records beyond what is on the NSW BMD website.

I am looking for a death for a Frederick Mercer.

In the 1950's he was living in Rochford or Rockford Street Sydney NSW.

His death does not come up on the records up to 1958. He was born in 1877 so most likely died in the 1950's or 1960's.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure which site you're using but at http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/Index/IndexingOrder.cgi/search?event=births you can get deaths up to 1978.

There is a 1963 death (father Frederick, in Burwood) and one in 1974 (parents George William and Emma Jane).

One source for later deaths is the Ryerson Index (obituaries):

Thank you, sorry yes the NSW BMD deaths goes up to 1978 not 1958.  It is the marriages that are up to 1958. It is possible that Frederick in 1963 could be the right one, although his father was Henry or Harry, but the informant may have made an error in recording his father as Frederick

I have looked at the Ryerson Index but haven't found anything there.
