Actually after a little poking on ancestry.com i think you really hit the nail on the head there ev!  You pegged him!
So here's what I have now...
Robert Stewart
b. 19 jun 1871 lanark
d. 12 may 1969 fife

J S Clelland
b. 9 mar 1868 lanark
d. 22 dec 1919 fife

I will continue to try to get more information from the relatives and see if i can make any headway from this point but if you could direct me towards the research where you found this ev that could be very helpful?
and also is there a child list for them?  The one i'm looking for would have moved to australia.
I am also of course interested if any of that research might have gone back further?

hi patvp, thanks for replying,i only started looking for my roots about 5 weeks ago,i lost my mum just over 3 yrs ago and she used to say that she was the last 1,well shes not,i have a great need to know where i come from so any info you could give me would be great.Robert and Janet stewart and their daughter christina are buried in kilmadock cemetery, very nr my mum and dad.the grave stone was renewed a few yrs ago but,as yet, i dont know who renewed it.duncan stewart married mary gibson in december 1910,they had 4 children mary mcgregor 1911,robert  mcgregor,1913,jessie mcgregor[my mum]1914,and alexander gibson 1920,sadly all are gone now, but, there is my cousin mary and myself with our respective families, and i still spend a lot of time going around doune to find where the stewart lived, but that will be wednsdays adventure. On a different note what stevenson is it that your looking for in bannockburn because, small world that it is ,im married to a stevenson and live in bannockburn, his granpa was william possibly born in 1889 died 1977 take care marys x
