1861/71/81 Census - SPARSHOTT

Looking for information on Geo (George?) Sparshott born about 1858 in Lowestift, Suffolk had one known child, Charlotte Elizabeth in 1880 (born in Eye, Suffolk). Have no information on who he was married to.

Hi Catherine...I have just trawled Eye in 1861 and am afraid there are no Sharshotts (Or Similar) in the Parish...No Lockwoods either unfortunately...Alas Lowestoft is way too big for trawling (500 Pages) without an address..so u may have to wait for 1837online to add Suffolk to find him...Sorry Kris

I have just joined Rootschat and if you are still interested, I think I can help you.   Your George Sparshott was the son of George Sparshott and Emma Lockwood.    Emma was baptised  in Halesworth and George was baptised in Washington, Sussex.  In fact this family of Sparshott seems to have lived in Sussex.  I have these Sparshotts going back to Charles baptised about 1661 in Oving.    The Lockwoods I have also got back to 1768, but as you can see I have a lot more to do on researching this branch.     By the way this is my daughter-in-law's family, one of her male forebears married a Sparshott.  Their name is Bashford.
If you want any of the information I have please let me know. I can then explain the odd spelling of Sparrowshot that appears in the Suffolk census.

I have managed to trace my family back to a Charles Sparshott born around 1788 in Oving, would be great if you have more info about the family.

Good afternoon…I am researching the Sparshotts for a friend descended from William born 1841 Washington Sussex.We have got back as far as Mary who it appears, had three sons out of wedlock with a William JUPP, George being the oldest…they lived in Ashington Sussex…
There is evidence in archives in Chichester that William fathered not only George (bapt.1831 Warminghurst) but also James Stephen Sparshott (bapt.1836 Washington) and William bapt.1841 also Washington
In the 1841 census Mary born 1806 in Sussex is living with William Jupp aged 87 so ,either a virile old fella or a father to a younger William with a conscience
Any info on Mary’s family going back would be gratefully received
