Hi. I grew up in Preston. My Dad played the violin. For some reason, he always took his violin to Laurence Naisby for repairs, adjustments, new strings, etc. Sometimes we all went in the car for the ride. I have a handwritten note from Mr Naisby to my father dated 18th May 1953. I could send you a photo of it, if you like. I was born in 1960, so my father was clearly a well-established customer of his! Actually, he trained to be a music teacher at Chester College, as it was then, so perhaps he had Mr Naisby recommended to him while there.
Kind regards, Ruth Melton.
