Swallows in Deptford 1795 - 1809
« on: Tuesday 29 December 09 17:03 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for any further info' on the Swallow family living in Deptford, or at least their children were christened at St Paul.
I have christenings for Thomas 1795, Matthew 1798, John 1802 and Hannah 1805, father Mathew Swallow, mother Susannah, from LDS website.
Is there any further info' I'd like to know father's occupation, mother's maiden name, how they met- no only joking there.
Cheers everyone and a very happy New Year to you all :-*

There may be father's occupation and address, but no guarantee.
Give the date of bapt, not just the year.

Pauline

Ok,
Thomas chr. 11 Oct 1795,
Matthew chr. 30 Dec 1798
John chr. 7 Nov 1802
Hannah 13 Oct 1805.

Thank you for your quick reply. I did forget in my haste to ask if there is any detail of the death/burial of Mathew Swallow (their father) in 1809.

Hi Pauline,
Thank you SO much for the information, and so quickly too. I thought Mathew (the father) might have been a potter as John (my gxg'father) and Matthew jnr went onto to be master potters in Bucks.

I have no date of death for Mathew, the info' I had was from my Uncle in a letter to my Mum in 1989, saying Mathew had died aged 49 in 1809 leaving his widow with many children.
