 Looking for a marriage between John Thompson Sowden and Mary Ann ?.On the 1851 census she is listed as being born in Thorne Yorkshire. John was born in Somercotes ,Lincolnshire .Marriage would be in the 1830's Thank You Shirley

There was a marriage of John SOWDEN to Mary Ann CHERRY at All Saints, Sculcoates in Q3 1840.  They seem to have a baby son in 1841.

Thanks I,m not sure if this is the one. I,m going by the 1851 census Apparently they haven't been found on the 1841 census I'm thinking that maybe he was married before as the oldest children were  Eliza age 18 ,John age 15 ,William age 14, Richard age 8 All except Richard were born Thoresley, Lincolnshire. There are 4 more children born in the 1840's all born in Lincolnshire. I'm thinking that my ggrandmother Harriet   born about 1841 was the daughter of John And Mary Ann's   Shirley

Hmmm ... I can find a John and Mary SOWDEN in North Thoresby in 1841 but they seem too old I suppose-

John Thompson Sowden was born 1802  Somercotes and died 1857 Mary Ann  married Abraham Waddington before 1861 Shirley
