Louis Gervason-France

On the 1911 UK census residing in the village of Brithdir in the Rhymney Valley of Glamorgan, South Wales was Louis Gervason aged 27 born in France.  His wife's name was Charlotte, aged 28 and they had been married 3 years, she was born in Nantyglo, Gwent.  I would appreciate any details of Louis.

freebmd.rootsweb.com shows the marriage (would give you his father's name).  He's listed as "Lewis" at marriage.  Charlotte was "Tucker".

Ideally you would have a place name (town) in France to search (there are generally not national indexes).

 - this site does show that the name was found (in births 1891-1915) most commonly in the Savoie department (if you click on a department name it will give you a list of communes where births by that surname were found, ordered by number of births).  It doesn't link you to the births themselves but gives you an idea.

 - the Savoie department archives have records online but unlike most of the other departments this is a pay site so you probably want some more proof of where Louis came from before you pay for anything.

 - there is a Louis Gervason in the 1920 census with two "step" sons, widowed, emigrated 1914.

Also in Ohio deaths, Charlotte's death in 1919 with father "John Wise" (fits with marriage of Charlotte Wyse to Matthew Thomas Tucker in 1901.
Louis died in 1953, birth given as 23 Oct 1883, mother Mary, father unknown.  He seems to have married again as he is listed as married and informant is Emma Gervason.
