Hi,
The following is stretching the imagine somewhat. I have found that a William Larmour married Sarah Alexander in Bellymena First Presbyterian Church on 14 Sept 1857. I then found that a William Lorimer and Sarah Alexander had a child, Elizabeth, in Ballymena on 12 Mar 1870.

I have had a good search for William and Mary's marriage.  If it was a Catholic marriage before 1864 then it would not show in Civil Registration and you would have to search church records.  However, in
www.ancestryireland.com there is a marriage listed for a William Larmour, father William in Co. Antrim.  I can't cross reference this as McCowan doesn't show up in many records. Are you sure of the spelling of McCowan? In Emerald Ancestors there is a William Larmour marrying a Sarah? in Co. Antrim.
In Griffiths Valuation of Ireland circa 1864 we have two William Larmours living in Lisburn, both in different streets in Old Warren.  Do you think this might be your William and his father??

Thanks for information
Mary was married in Glasgow in 1889 and copy marriage certificate states that her parents were William Lorimer and Sarah(nee McCowan) both deceased
1901 and 1911 censuses show Mary as born in Lisburn, Belfast

If you take into account the accent of people from N.I. when giving their names to officials it is not hard to imagine them spelling Lorimer as Larmour etc. so do keep an open mind about the spelling.  This is what I have found on the LDS Pilot scheme:
Birth:
Registration District:  Lisburn, 1866, Mary Larmour (the only one on the list)
Deaths:
Registration District:  Lisburn, Oct-Dec 1885, William Larmour, age 50 (the only one who fitted the criteria)
There were several Sarah Larmours, but this was the one who fitted:
Registration District:  Lisburn, Jul-Sept 1886, Sarah Larmour, age 49.

How does this grab you??

Hi Rosemary Jean

The General Register Office cannot trace the birth of Mary Larmour
How did you find it if they could not
Is it one of life's mysteries
