Henry Percy 1885
« on: Monday 04 January 10 17:33 GMT (UK) »
I have found a birth certificate for a Henry Percy born in Northumberland in 1885 , his Mother was called Emily/Amelia Bauer; she was born in Germany in 1856.His father was called Charles Percy.

I wanted to find a marriage for the couple or any information of her immigration or time in Germany?

Many Thanks for any help. ;)

Henry Percy was born in 53 George Street in Elswick Newcastle. His father Charles was a 'scene artist in theatre'! - What an interesting job  ;D

I was trying to find that family in 1891 and 1901 to see if Henry was the eldest or not - but the only Henry Percy I can see born in N'land at that time in both censuses has parents James and Isabella ...

Have you got the family? (presumably, to have found his mums yr and place of birth)
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

He is in the 1891 and 1901 census for Newcastle , he seems to be only be living with his mother Emily Percy nee Bauer in these two censuses. After this for 1911 he has married Ann Elizabeth Summers , his mother is residing as a dressmaker (born in Germany naturilized Brit Sub).

OK, found them. He is with mother Emily ... and it all looked very familiar!

Has been discussed here

So you have the birth cert now - and her maiden name was Baur.
What other clues does it give - full name and occupation of father?etc

Her maiden name is Bauer. I was wondering if you could help me find infor on her immigration here or any other info on marriage - i am simply stuck in finding her anywhere apart from 1891 and 1901.

Cheers ;)

I was looking at that census at it seemed a quick shift from a governess to a dressmaker in 1911.
What is annoying, is that I cannot find a marriage for them?
