Hi, can anyone help me to find birth record for;

JAMES HUBBARD Born 1750 Hartlip Kent.
Died 21/10/1797 Hartlip Kent.

Any help appreciated.

No Baptism for James in Hartlip

The only HUBBARD couple having children baptised around that time are James & Elizabeth, with one child in 1747 & another in 1752. James would fit nicely in that gap, so perhaps the family moved around for the father's work.

Hi V,
      Theres a James Hubbard christened 23 Oct 1745 at  Mereworth (about 8 miles from Hartlip).
Parents were Nicholas and Martha.
Could be your chappie . allowing date errors that we encounter all the time. although I think Betty's suggestion  is more likely

(I see there are two burials for a James Hubbard, 1797 & 1807)

There's a James & Elizabeth HUBBART with three children, 1731, 1734 & 1735. They  married in 1730. This is the only couple of this name, I wonder if this should be HUBBARD (one entry is marked 'very faint') & they kept moving to & from Hartlip. This could of course just be coincidence, but the names are so close (vicar misheard the name perhaps?)

There are HUBBARDs all round that area.
The surrounding parishes are Rainham, Upchurch, Lower Halstow, Newington & Stockbury.

No HUBBARDs in Rainham, several in Upchurch, two couples in Lower Halstow, several in Newington, & one in Stockbury.
But no more children for James & Elizabeth, or a James baptised c1750.
Detling is also very close, but I don't have any records for there.

I think this couple James and Elizabeth could be the ones I am searching for.
My Hubbards are from, Upchurch,Newington,Lower Halstow & my greatgrandmother Harriett Hubbard c1837 was born in Rainham the family were in Upchurch 1841,
I have no knowledge of any family in Stockbury.
The burial you mentioned 1797 was "my " James the other one may have been his son, will have to check my notes.
It is so unfortunate that the maiden name for Elizabeth was not given. My great grandmothers parents were first cousins Richard and William Hubbard. I wonder if James and Elizabeth Hubbart married 1730 were also related ? just a thought.

There's just one Baptism in Stockbury, for the son of Sarah of Thurnham.
Three Marriages - Jesse, William & Mary, all 1800s

There's only one SKINNER family in Hartlip, which could be Elizabeth's parents & siblings.
