Hi Genie,

would the John Iverson that wozzle has found be the one you are looking for?
I have him in my tree married to Mary Ann Mitchell in 1824 Norwich.

many thanks Wozzle and Eileen I did note that particlar John Iverson on the IGI but need further convincing that he may be mine.
Eileen, I too have thought that my John Iverson may have been married to Mary Ann Mitchell on the 4 October 1824, the only reference I have to this was from the Norfolk Marriage Index.  The reason I included Elsing is that place was mentioned in the census as his birth place.
John Samuel Iverson jnr was tried in 1844 and transported to Australia in 1845.

Hi Genie,
As I have been researching the Iverson name in Norwich for the passed 10 years, I have found this interesting!

I have 10 John's the nearest birth to John 1803 is 1784.

have looked in Elsing, and found a family with the name  Ireson.

there is a Samuel Ireson baptised 6 apr 1809 to Thomas and Ann Ireson (Barber), but could not find a John or Samuel born around 1826.

I think the above Samuel married in 1835 to Lydia Chambers.

Not much help I know!

Eileen, how exciting. I believe family to be

John Samuel Iverson Father
Son Samuel Iverson b 1826 - Transported to Tasmania Australia
Dau Ann Iverson b 1828
(Possible Dau Elizabeth b 1839?)

The Tasmanian Government archives have an abundance of information online at http://www.archives.tas.gov.au/nameindexes

Samuel's details can be found at
http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?detail=1&type=C&id=35790

In particular look at  Indent (Statement of Offence) CON/1/31 pages 60 and 61
It is quite feint but look at page 61 in the far column it says F. Jno S. Ann and N P
(ie Father John, Sister Ann and Native Place)

In 1841 Census HO 107/789/9  St Martin at Oak
John Iverson Weaver 35 years
Samuel Iverson Weaver 15 Years
Ann Iverson 13 Years

Do you have this family group?
regards
Genie

Hi Genie
Thank you for the info on Samuel. had a quick look will study it more when I have a day off!

this is what I think happened to John Iverson (1803) family

John Married Mary Anne Mitchell in 1824 (I have no information on Mary Anne)
Children
Samuel born 1826
Anne 1828
Mary Anne died B/F 1841
John Married Charlotte Green 17 dec 1843
John Died 1849
Charlotte died 1850
Anne Married Henry Townshend 1849

John Iverson 1803 - Father Edward Valentine Iverson(1780-1853) mother Sarah Cook (1784- 1853)
Edward Valentine's brother Zachariah (1777-1851) was my husband's 4x g grandfather.

If you would like more information on this family let me know and I will send you a PM

Regards Eileen
