Henry Atkinson
« on: Saturday 09 January 10 23:03 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone help me find the baptism/birth record for a Henry Atkinson please?  Apparently he was born in around 1806 in Hutton, Penrith Cumbria.

I've found him in the census records in London.

If anyone can find a baptism record, please can you let me also know who his parents were please and siblings.

I've hit a big brick wall with this one, so if anyone can help that would be great.

Many thanks.

when did he marry jane??

He was with her in 1841 census-if they had recently been married you could send for certificate which would give fasther's name and occ

1851 Henry gives p.o.b. as Hutton+-later Penrith

there is a christening on IGI -extracted
Henry Atkinson 28 Sept 1804
Newton reigny Cumberland
Parents James Atkinson Elizabeth Longrigg

as Penrith, Hutton End and Newton Reuigny all come within Leath Ward in Cumberland I wondered if this could be him??

Thanks Suzard

He married Jane on the 4th August 1833, at St Gile's Church, Cripplegate, London, so I cannot get the certificate unfortunately.

Thank you for your help though.

Kind regards

I suppose the son being called Henry James could be indicative of his father's name - but need not be :(
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hi

It doesn't seem to be there yet, but if it's in a London Church, and you don't yet have the original entry, they're being put online via Ancestry.

Most libraries offer access and you can download  an image of the original entry.

Or you could check via the net whether the register is in the Guildhall collection and see whether they'll copy the one entry for you.

Best wishes
