Writing my family history so wondered if anybody knew were the The early Roots of the name Crouch comes from Grand mothers Maiden name.

Hi Lee,
The Oxford Names Companion and A Dictionary of English Surnames give the following info:
Crouch,Crowtch, Crotch, Crutch: One who lives near a cross, from OE cruc  ME crouch later replaced by ON cross.  Variants Croucher, Crouchman.
