Hi, I am also descended from this family. James Smart and Janet Younger had a daughter Elisabeth Smart, born 1816 in Kettle but I have never been able to find a record of her birth. Her death certificate confirms her parents. She married James Sharp in 1840 and died in 1866 in Cameron.
Janet Younger died in 1856, her death certificate states she was the widow of James Smart. Unfortunately this is all I have, I have seen at least two different theories on Ancestry family trees as to who the parents of James Smart were. I am also descended from a different line of Smarts in Dysart, I was interested to come across this one but they don't seem to tie in so far.
