Hi Annette Ellen,

Do you have any rough dates so we know when these people were around?

Hi Anne,

I think that Edward was born in 1901, and the son John about 1931 but am not sure. The others I do not know,
Father Anthony b 1866 and Mother Mary Anne Kelly b 1873 and died 1959?

Hope this helps as I do not have much at all, sorry I did not put it on before.

Hi Annette Ellen

In the 1901 Scotland census Anthony Christie was shown at 32 Parkfoot Street Kilsyth
Age:37. This was the residence of his father-in-law James Kelly (my great-grandfather)
In the census it shows he was born in Bo'ness,Linlithgowshire. Occupation- coal miner.
At the moment I am doing research into the Kelly side of my family, that is how I came across
your e-mail. I will contact you if I find more information.

Regards Alice

Hi Annette,

Anthony Christie married Mary Ann Kelly in St Patrick's Church, Kilsyth 04/08/1890. He was an ironstone miner at the time, she was a domestic servant. He was 24 and she was 18. He married from High Street, Kilsyth and she from 54 Auchenstarry Row. After they married they lived at 42 Auchenstarry Row. The parents of Anthony Christie were Anthony Christie (coal miner) and Catherine Christie ( ms O'Brien) they were both deceased at the time of the marriage.

Do you know where Mary Ann Christie died in 1959 as I cannot locate this on the Scottish Records.
Cannot trace Edward Christie's birth but will check the local church records for a baptism.

Regards,

Alice.

Hi Alice,

I have been told that Mary Ann Christie ( m.s.Kelly) died aged 86yrs at Springburn, Glasgow/ Lanark, 644/04 1414.
These numbers were after the information. I do not know just what they mean?
I hope that this info I was given is correct.

Regards
Annette

Hi Annette,

The numbers you refer to will the the GROS (General Register for Scotland) Reference Numbers.

If, for example, you were to search Scotland's People and within your search criteria there was more than one person of the same name, the same dates etc., these numbers would identify the correct one for you to pick out and then be able to download the correct certificate.
