Lost Kingdoms of Africa - Nubia.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00pq946/Lost_Kingdoms_of_Africa_Nubia/

I found this fascinating. And the next episode (Ethiopia) is already available. I'm downloading it now.

By the way, did you catch the Timbuctu lost libraries documentary?

RootsChat - Could we either have an Africa board or East Africa and West Africa boards to match the South Africa board please?

The Ethiopia one is brilliant - I recorded it and have saved it to watch again.

He approaches his quest like a genealogist!

I loved the rock-gong on the Nubian one.  :o

Pretty good sound for a rock  :D

Some fantastic history - building skills I thought were restricted to Egypt - a great eye-opener.

I recorded it while I was out tonight - will watch it tomorrow.

Are we the only ones watching this fantastic series?

It seems we may be.   ??? That would be a shame, it is an excellent series.

I wasn't so impressed with Zimbabwe. Still very interesting though.

Do you have a connection with Africa Christine?

No connection to Africa that I've come across, Paul.  Simply interested in history and archeology, spotted the trailer for this and set it to record.  I haven't been disappointed yet but still think Ethiopia was best so far.

It's currently running on BBC4 - maybe if it runs on BBC1 or 2 as a repeat more people will come across it.

West Africa is up now on iPlayer!!

Excellent, as before. I was disappointed they didn't cover Zaria (of which I know some details). Absolutely fascinating!!
