Francis 1861 / 1871 Essex pls

Hello

I am looking for the parents of John Francis born (I think!) in Essex roundabout 1855 (he is 28 on Marriage Cert in 1883).  I think his father is Henry Francis.  If anyone can find them on either 1861 / 1871 / 1881 I would be very grateful.

You can search the 1881 yourself at www.familysearch.org.  It is free.  I had a quick look at the 1871 for you but there are far too many with the same name so it would need more details to pin him down.  What was his occupation?  His father's occupation?  Where did he marry?   Who did he marry?   If you can find them on the 1901 index - free again - then you will know where he was born and that will make it much easier.

I have searched on 1881 and it appears he is on a vessel as an able seaman, therefore he is not with his parents.  He married Louise Sadd in 1883 but the marriage certificate is the worst copy I've ever seen.  Can't find him on 1901 but on 1881 it says he was born in Dedham, Essex but can't find a birth that matches.

Hello Laurap

In 1841 their is two households of the name Francis at Dedham.......the theory being that Robert Francis married Harriett in her home town which is not in Essex.........had 4 children and then moved back to Dedham to be near Robert's mum!
Now you need to find this family in 1851 and 1861 and then follow the children ........ hopefully this will lead to your John Francis
