maybe Toni ;D ;D ;D ;D

Normally it's their pre sentance occupation that is shown not what work they were doing inside the prison.

Mary Cranley/Hitchens

We know she can be connected to the Cullmers by her occupation, but doesn't look as though she lived close to them, but Ellen snr must have known her maiden name, she didn't just magic a name like that from thin air.

I think I have found William in 1841, living in Charles St Saffron Hill.
With his parents George and Hannah and siblings. He is down as Henry Hitchens age 13, daddy is a carpenter ( another one)

I can see 2 Mary Cranleys on the Surrey side of the Thames in 1841, both give ages as 15 and are servants, one says not born Surrey the other says born Ireland ( as are many other of the Cranleys around London).
I think that will be as close as we can get to Mary before her marriage.

Looking round the 19th century newspapers for any Hitchens who might be connected.
Lloyds Weekly News 8/4/1888
Report of a burglary at the premises of George Hitchens  wardrobe dealer ( second hand clothes I think) at 81 Drury Lane London.

The Polly Arber mentioned above is Rachel's sister Mary, she married Sidney Arber who died shortly after the marriage.

Looking at the image Polly born Birmingham is a bag maker as well as Rachel.

Mary/Polly Hitchens/Arber I think remarries to George Brinton in 1883.
1891 George married, no wife present is in Lambeth.
