Would appreciate a graveyard look-up for Robert McMaster and his wife Mary Elizabeth Eccles.
Many thanks,

A number of graveyards in Ballymena and surrounding area can be searched at:

Hi Scotmum,

I've had a search on this site but nothing turned up.
Thanks for the reply.

That's a pity. Can you perhaps give folks an indication of timescale for your couple?

The only dates I have are that their marriage was in 1852 and I think Mary Elizabeth (Eccles)
died in 1910.
I know of them having three sons, William b.1861, James b.1865 & Samuel b.1867
William moved to Lanarkshire and is in Wishaw in the 1881 cencus.

The Braid site does not have all of their records online yet, so this may be the reason for no return or, as was quite often the case, there may not have been a headstone.

There is a death index entry in Ballymena in 1911 for a Mary McMaster born c 1844 and one in 1913 for a birth c1839, albeit neither fits with your Mary as she married in 1852 (unless the second married aged 13).

You can further check indexes at :

Could this be the Will extract for 1911 Mary McMaster death? -
"Probate of the Will of Mary McMaster late of Ballygelly County Antrim Widow who died 21 June 1911 granted at Belfast to Alexander McMaster and Robert Hugh McMaster Farmers."

Thanks for the information on the possible will.
There may be a possibility here as on the Scottish death registration of
the son William, the father's (Robert McMaster) occupation is given as
"Farmer". This is in 1931.
On William's marriage registration document, Robert's occupation is given as
"Master Shoemaker". This is in 1885.

Here's the Mary McMaster that died in June 1911 in 1911 census with her family-
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/Slemish/Ballygelly/122800/
She's a widow with 10 children (all surviving) and married 49 years according to the census.
