Alexander Stewart, Earl of Mar.
« on: Sunday 17 January 10 07:23 GMT (UK) »
Trying to work out who, what, where, why and when.
Looking at Alexander Earl of Mar, did he marry Isabel Douglas, Countess of Mar? and who were her parents?
I gather she was of the "House of Douglas"
Freer, Stewart, Blair, Bruce, Wylie, Henderson, Nichols, Ward, Weddell, Waddell, Lear, Gruneison, Maitland, Freeman, Sawyers, Logan, Phillips, Whitely.
and several others.

Presumably you mean Alexander Stewart who died 1435?

Yes, he did marry Isobel Douglas and by this marriage gained the Earldom of Mar.  Her parents were William Douglas, Earl of Douglas and Margaret Countess of Mar.  Alexander was her second husband.
