Marriage lookup please
« on: Saturday 23 January 10 05:55 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I am doing this research for a friend who is trying to find out about her parents!. Her mother Brenda Moon married James Mayes she believes around Dec 30th 1939/40.  Well I have looked from 1933 - 1942 but I cannot find them. My friend says that they were married in Camerton, Somerset.
Brenda was born in June 1915. I haven't started looking for her fathers information yet because she doesn't know any approx. dates for him.  Hope I am making sense in all this.

Hi Avril,
Freebmd marriages seem to jump fron March 1938 to March 1939 so lucky that Tati could find it elsewhere for you.

BirthReg;
Brenda MOON
September 1915
Clutton
5c 723
Mothers Maiden name, DANDO

Possible Marriage; not in Somerset

Charlie MOON
Eva A DANDO
June 1914
Bristol
6a 321

There is also an Arthur Moon, 1911, Bristol, with a Beatrice Dando on the same page.

The only possible birth for a Charlie Moon old enough to marry in 1915, I can find, is this one;

Charlie MOON
September 1889
Faversham
2a 845
But he may have been born Charles.

Purchasing the Marriage Cert then Brendas/James Birth Certs are the first steps ;)

Trish :)

Purchasing Brendas birth cert is the first step ;)
I agree, especially as there is another birth for a Moon with mother's maiden name Dando in Clutton district in Sep 1911 (and maybe others earlier?)

Hello there Tati and Trish
Many thanks for your work.  Yes Brenda Moons mum's maiden name was Dando. I explained to my friend that it is best to get a birth certificate,marriage cert and death.  They will give heaps of information. I personally have a book full for my own geneaology.
Many thanks once again.  A wonderful site.

Love
Avril
