I Can't find Kings Arms Lane, Heston on any map
« on: Wednesday 16 March 05 18:08 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know where this road is???

I have a copy of the Godfrey edition map 1895 for Heston, and the Hounslow ones but I can't find it. My ancestors are listed as living at Kings Arms Lane Heston in 1851, 1861 and 1871, and in 1881 some of the family lived at Kings Arms Yard caravan.

Can any of you wonderful people out there tell me where it is?

Also Brickfield Cottages?? Heston. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pauline :)

Hi Pauline

The following seems to give the location of "Kings Arms Lane" in Hounslow

http://www.dwgharris.fsnet.co.uk/peter%20mate.htm

The family in the yard of the Kings Arms (High St, Heston) 1881 were obviously living in a caravan

Best wishes

There used to be brickfields in Heston - I seem to remember a Brickfields Lane when I was a child.  The area that used to be the brickfields is now under the M4 and various houses - I imagine this is where Brickfields Cottages used to be.

Hi Pauline,

I know this is a long time since your post, and maybe you are no longer using Rootschat, but some research I am currently doing has thrown up both Brickfield Cottages and Kings Arms Lane. I'm sure it is just a coincidence, but stranger things happen. The surname I'm researching is Fisher - does that mean anything to you?

Regards

Don'cha just hate it when posted links have become defunct.

Would anyone who saw it remember if Kings Arms Lane was towards the Osterley side of Heston?

I have a marriage at St Mary's Osterley where the couple gave their address as Kings Arms Lane

Thanks!
