The only Childs in Gt Stukeley in 1841 were

Gt Stukeley HO107/449 folio 10
Mary Chiles 65
William Chiles 15 ag lab
both born in Hunts

Were there any other children born after John, and if so do you know where?

Regards

David

On the 1871 census it states John Childs b. St Huledy, perhaps you could request an earlier census for that area.
I have images for John Childs on 1871/81/91 and 1901 if you require them, send e-mail by pm

Found him in 1861
RG9/974 folio 57A
Cambridge Rd Godmanchester
John Chiles head marr 29 brick burner born Gt Stukeley
Eliza Chiles wife 29 b Lt Paxton Hunts
Martha J Chiles dau 4 b Godmanchester
Sarah Chiles dau 2  b Godmanchester
Catherine Chiles dau 10 (can't read days, weeks, mths?)  b Godmanchester

It's a bit early to be describing this as a brick wall. You have his birthplace and year from various censuses - next step the parish register for Gt Stukely. If he's not there then that might be a brick wall!

regards

David
