Hiya Richard strike would be my great grandad too! Can I ask who your grandad/grandma was please? Our grandad is Arthur he had 6 girls and 2 boys. So we have a lot of family on our side. Unfortunately he lost touch with his family as he was in care from age 2. Thanks!

I believe we spoke to lell. We shared some pictures we both had of both sides of the family. Your Grandma Doreen looked just like my grandad Arthur too! Do you have much information about out great grandad Richard?

Yes Lell is my Aunt. Only info I have is what I have picked up from the I-net as he and his wife died when my grandma was still young, therefore she didn't have many memories of them. I believe Doreen went to live with an Aunt and the other kids were put into care due to there ages. The Strike gene must be strong if Arthur looked like Doreen because I was able to get a picture of the eldest brother (Richard 1922) and he was the double of my dad

Wow....

This was back in 2010 when this thread was started. This is why I love the internet you've found a connection 13 years later.
Hope you can share your family info guys best of luck.

I think I found information that they died in a car accident apparently this was when my grandad was only 2 I know he went into a care home in Leeds with his sister Rose but this she was sent to Australia and they lost touch after that. Be interesting to see photos of us all to see if we bear any resemblence! We all live in Rotherham we have a huge family on our side.

I believe it was a family story regarding their deaths (car accident). Richard 1900-1932 died of Intestinal Obstruction, no P.M.  and Lillian Strike (Smith) 1902-1934 died of another illness I'd rather not put on here. Richard and Lillian were married in 1922 in Leeds and lived about a 10 mins walk from where I live now. I and my family (descendants of Doreen) still live in Leeds although Doreen and her family (except my dad) lives/lived in Lancashire. Doreen sadly passed in 2019 aged 94

One thing I regret is not doing the family tree earlier as they all seem to have lived to a healthy age and it would of been brilliant to have had them all meet up again, considering the short distance they all lived.
