Yes Andrew Wilkinson did marry Sarah Ann Collins in 1885 and she died 23rd February 1914 I think in childbirth.

He married Charlotte Bassett on 27th May 1922 and I have found the death of their daughter Grace on 25th January 1923.

It is believed that Charlotte Bassett was a lady of the night in Longreach. She became pregnant and blamed Andy Wilkinson who accepted that the child was his and married her (Source Andy's grandson).
I don't know if she remarried ( Qld BDM's on microfishe go only to 1939) but I believe she died in Rockhampton in 1969. No records in Rockhampton cemeteries online but I can look at the Rockhampton Crematorium records next week.

Hi Ken

I would appreciate it if you are able to look up the Crematorium records for Charlotte in Rockhampton.
I could not find her death in the Rockhampton cemeteries either. Charlotte doesn't appear on any of the electoral rolls with Andrew so maybe she didn't stay with him very long. She would have been 37 when Andrew died so she may have married again.

After Andrew Wilkinson and the deaths of their two children, Charlotte took up with one Albert Charles Wollschlager. In 1946 she was charged with arson in Longreach and was freed with a 5 pound bond. In 1952 she is mentioned in the reports of an assault on Wollschlager by Henry Ewan/Yuen. The articles can be found in Trove. There is a death for a Harriet Charlotte Wollschlager, Dec 1969 in the North Rockhampton Cemetery records which might be her, although I don't know that she ever married Wollschlager. He died in 1963.

Thank you emjaye

I did discover what happened to Charlotte Bassett/ Wilkinson/ Wollschlanger. She was a very interesting character and both her and Albert appear on the 1963 ER living in the Eventide Rest Home in Rockhampton where they both died. I have not found a marriage for Charlotte to Albert so maybe they never married.

Thank you for your interest.
